Security

On one of our first outreaches, we went into the very rural areas and ministered to families right in their "homes." Most were surrounded by barbed wire, something we might see surrounding a prison. But in Nicaragua, front yards were adorned by layers of this.  As our group entered the community in the woods playing violin, guitar, and singing songs of joy, families came out to their front doors in curiosity.  Some invited us into the small home and maybe 25 of us scrunched in, blessing the family, blessing the home, and releasing all that God has in store for them.  The children received stickers, small toys, and candies; the ladies were given the many bracelets and necklaces that were donated to me to bring.  Such joy was seen in these homes.

As we passed one particular home that was completely surrounded by barbed wire, my eyes caught a young woman's eyes inside.  There seemed to be a heartache there but also an expectancy.  She wanted what she saw and Jesus was there to give it.  I was drawn to pray for her but there was no way in, so I reached through the wire and she stepped forward to me.  As I placed my hand on her shoulder, I noticed that she pulled down the wire to protect me from being cut. Such tenderness pierced my heart and even now, I am moved to tears at the genuine love I witnessed there. Someone on the team was moved by it also and snapped a photo.  Seeing it reminded me to continue to pray for Margaretta. She has dreams and she shared them with me. Thank you Jesus for this momentary interaction with Margaretta that was really a Divine collision of Your Love.
